What is the Inquiry-Based Learning Approach (IBLA)?

  • ♦ Inquiry-based learning develops thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • ♦ Instead of driving the class through a lecture-style format, the facilitator poses questions, scenarios, and problems and active case studies to participants
  • ♦ Participants are encouraged to actively participate in discussions and sometimes will be asked to research topics individually or in groups to formulate answers. Participants will then present their findings and supporting evidence to the class along with the other students.
  • ♦ Participants will usually further develop their answers by listening to what other participants have found as well as identifying areas that require more attention and detail.
  • ♦ Facilitator finally presents best practice scenarios and lessons learnt.

Our Masterclasses are half day workshops done between the hours of 9 am – 4pm with and hour break in between for lunch.
